I first came across the Green Tea Lavender range of products by Elizabeth Arden a few months back. At the time, it was sold as a set that included a shower gel and a body spray. I didn’t get the set because I didn’t think I’d use the body cream and spray.
I should have. This thing smells wonderful. In fact, the scent was the first thing I noticed about the product when I opened the box it came in (the second being that it looked more like a body scrub).
Top notes: Lemon and mint
Middle notes: Lavandula stoechas, Bulgarian lavender, oolong tea and green tea
Base notes: Birch and musk
It may sound like a lot but it’s actually quite refreshing and isn’t overwhelming at all. I would even say it is rather energizing. The cream itself is hydrating and absorbs into the skin pretty well after a few minutes. It doesn’t leave behind an oily layer like some creams do (which would mean that the cream is overly rich), even when used in a humid climate where I currently am. It spreads well – although not like lotions – and the consistency isn’t too thick. What I find interesting are the tiny droplets of honey suspended in the cream.
That’s honey that you can see. Before I start rattling off about quantum dots, let me tell you that these blobs actually melt into your skin while you slather the cream on! They aren’t abrasive, don’t stay as yellow balls on the surface and neither will you end up with yellow-tinted skin. They just get smeared on and… disappear.
A tub like this would last for many months and that’s why I find it surprisingly affordable (US$17 for a 250ml tub at Mizspa.com). If your girlfriend has requested for a moisturiser as a Valentine’s Day gift and you’re at a loss, you could get her this. Of course, don’t only give her a body cream. Though I’m sure you already know that. Right?

I totally agree, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender Hobey Drops Body Cream smells wonderful and refreshing. It does absorb nicely, and did I say it smells wonderful? This light lingering scent has me hooked. I wonder if the perfume is just as yummy.
