Compared to the original one, the new DDML+ not only has the same texture that fans love, but is also 50% better in moisture retention and 54% better in improving the skin’s barrier strength. It has 4 new ingredients:
1) phytofix, which is a blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract;
2) hyaluronic acid, which helps the skin retain moisture;
3) glycerin, a well-known humectant and
4) urea, which mimics the function of healthy skin.
It is also fragrance-free and allergy-tested.
Of all the years I’ve known Clinique, from my acne-fighting teenaged years till today, this is the first time the brand has reformulated a product in their 3-step skincare system. It’s not that the original moisturiser doesn’t work, but the people behind the brand have realised the importance in keeping up with the modern world. According to Janet Pardo, Senior Vice President of Clinique, “Among the influences that can account for such a shift are environmental aggressors, climate change, travelling more, sleeping less, eating processed foods and juggling the complexities of our daily lives.”
The best part about this new launch is the price. While many would think that a reformulated moisturiser would cost more, the opposite is true! The prices of the original DDML and DDMG are S$42 and S$70 for the 50ml and 125ml bottles respectively; This is now reduced to S$28 and S$60! The new pricing is standardised all throughout southeast asia, and even in duty-free stores in airports, so no matter where you go, the price will be the same from now on.
