The boyfriend made a dinner reservation for two at The Disgruntled Chef on Saturday night, to celebrate quite a few accomplishments we both made recently. It was such a great surprise for me, first because he’s new to Singapore and also because I had never heard of the restaurant before, and had no prior idea of the quality of the food there. Not only was the service great, but the food was ah-ah-ah-mazing! Here are a few pictures I managed to take during the course of the dinner:

It was such a nice time at the restaurant. The food surpassed all my expectations of it (and so did the bill). My favourite dish was the – OK actually I don’t have a favourite. They were all so good. I do recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet time, great food and service, somewhere not too difficult to get to, somewhere without sand flies and somewhere with a mature crowd. While sipping on champagne and wine, we both agreed the food and ambience revealed nothing about a disgruntled chef. If anything, it seemed this was a chef who knew exactly what he was doing and whom he wanted to please.
