The Absolute Must-Have Item in Your Luggage When Travelling

Grey Jersey Dress

I know right, travelling light is such a challenge especially when you’ve got so many beauty products and shoes to bring along. When we’re packing for our trips, we’re always thinking of the many outfits that would look great in photographs. If we pack a top, we need something at the bottom to go with it. Add to that the fact that we need to consider our activities when we’re at the new place. Are we going to have shopping days? Are we going trekking? Will we go whale watching? The list of questions is endless.

But I recently discovered a staple that should be in everyone’s luggage when travelling: the grey jersey dress.

I’m definitely a dress girl. You don’t have to think how to match it with another piece of clothing, so how convenient is that? In addition to that, because the dress is grey, it will match any other colour of your accessories, regardless of whether we’re talking about a bag, jacket, earrings or footwear. Even your makeup can be either natural or all made up. Grey is such a muted, neutral colour that any other colour that goes with it will stand out. The best part is that a jersey dress is lightweight, and you can wear it several times if you do your laundry while overseas.

It might not work for a trek in the woods, but it would take you just about anywhere else, which makes it such a versatile piece to own. I like wearing one with some length and which is a bit loose-fitting, so that it keeps me warm in the plane and I can sit comfortably for hours. Also, if you’re headed to somewhere more conservative, a maxi dress like this will help you fit right in and avoid any unnecessary stares.

Imagine if you’re on a trip and suddenly, somehow, got invited to a nice dinner get-together. Having a dress like this means you won’t need to get all flustered at not having anything suitable to wear. Just dress it up with some earrings and a clutch, and you’ll be all set to go! I mean, not everyone can afford to dress like the Duchess of Cambridge, can we now.

I’m not sure if Uniqlo still stocks this particular dress (which has a bra sewn in so you don’t even need to wear one) but you can try looking for it. Alternatively, here are some affordable jersey dresses you can invest in before they run out of stock too:
