I had to drop by Watsons yesterday to get my facial cleanser and I decided to also get some basic makeup items. I’d been meaning to get a new gel liner, a lighter blusher and a lighter eyebrow pencil.
I managed to find these babies, and am quite excited to start using them!
MAYBELLINE HYPER TIGHT LINER
I’ve always used Maybelline eyeliner pens whenever I wanted to draw a cute cat eye, and they’ve always worked well for me. I don’t have majorly oily lids and stuff, so I won’t know if it sits well with you. The one problem I’ve always had when it comes to drawing cat eyes is getting the angles to match on both eyes. When I saw this hanging in store, I knew I had to get it. We’ll see how this one does in due time!
RIMMEL PROFESSIONAL EYEBROW PENCIL
I’ve used this brow pencil in 001 Black Brown for a long while. Since I’m on a mission to slowly lighten my hair, a lighter shade would be better for my brows too. I’ve just never been a fan of the dark brows-blonde hair look. It’s a good thing my brows are so sparse – this gives me a good amount of freedom to play around with colours!
I like this brow pencil because it’s got a good amount of product in a pencil (not like some other Asian brands) and it has a brush to help with shaping and blending. You can watch how I do my brows in this tutorial. You can also see them in my Charles and Keith bag unboxing blog post here.
REVLON POWDER BLUSH (NEW PACKAGING)
Doesn’t it feel good to know, after you’ve bought some makeup, that you’ve actually scored something different? Like an exclusive collection/shade, or in my case, a brand new packaging?
This blush now has more blush, no brush! Love it. Nobody uses the small brushes that come in compact blushes anyway, so it’s always been such a waste of material (and cost). I’m so glad to have found something new, and I might get it in another shade next time if I like the product enough!
I’m most excited to start with the Maybelline Hyper Tight Liner because it’s been so long since I last did a cat eye look. I love how cute cat eyes are and how, when drawn properly, they can really open up your peepers! Picture Ariana Grande without them. Now do I make my point?
