How can I write about Christmas on a beauty blog without talking about the amazing thing that is limited edition beauty holiday 2020 collections?
Now there are tons of beauty brands out there, and some have unfortunately not launched proper collections this year due to Covid-related disruptions. But for the rest, I’m so glad they did!
Here are my top favourites of the season, just sharing in case you’re looking to get something for yourself or someone else. And in no particular order…
1. ZOEVA SHARE YOUR RADIANCE MAKEUP ARTIST ZOE BAG
OK to be honest, I love the Share Your Radiance Brush Vault more than this and ended up actually buying it. But it’s now out of stock everywhere, so the next best thing is this set (which you can get here on Cult Beauty with free worldwide shipping). It’s not everyday that you can get your hands on such a gorgeous brush collection with brushes that you’ll use for a long time. The wine shade on the brushes is matte, but the colour on the bag is sparkly. After unveiling the brush vault that I bought and using the brushes themselves, I say you should go for this!
2. DIOR ROUGE DIOR GOLDEN NIGHTS REFILLABLE LIPSTICK SET
I recently tried on the Dior Rouge 999. My sensitive lips didn’t get a bad reaction to the lipstick and the colour looked so beautiful on me too. This shade comes in satin and matte finishes in the set, together with 4 other very wearable, sophisticated shades. I am in love! You can get this here on Selfridges.
3. CHARLOTTE TILBURY FILMSTAR BRONZE AND GLOW LIMITED EDITION SET
This is a holiday spin on the classic Charlotte Tilbury product that probably everybody already owns. I love the blinged out compact case! The set comes with a mini Powder and Sculpt brush, so we can tell that the people at Charlotte Tilbury don’t like to leave us hanging. If you don’t already have this in your stash, you can get it on Selfridges.
4. HERMES ROUGE HERMES LIMITED EDITION 24-COLOUR LIPSTICK PIANO SET
This one is for all the crazed Hermès fans. The set consists of a mix of matte and satin shades and each lipstick is refillable. It doesn’t come affordable though, and will set you back by about slightly more than S$2k (see it on Selfridges here). You can always get the individual lipsticks though – it never hurts to have a little bit of luxury on your dresser.
5. PAT MCGRATH CELESTIAL DIVINITY MATTETRANCE LIPSTICK & GILTY PLEASURES MINI LIP TRIO
I’m lumping these two products together because it’s Pat McGrath and I just can’t mention one without the other. I super love the packaging of the MatteTrance lipstick and would love to get Divine Romance for myself. The Gilty Pleasures Mini Lip Trio has classic Pat McGrath shades Executive Realness, Elson 2 and Soft Core, each to suit a different mood. I love their mini lip trios in general because I actually can finish them and find them value for money (3 lipstick shades for the price of less than 1).
6. MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRECIOUS GLAMOUR BUTTERFLY LIPSTICK AND BLING BOMB LIP GLOSS
Here’s something much more wallet-friendly. Makeup Revolution’s products are generally pretty decent and the butterfly on the lipstick has me sold. Both products here are from the Precious Glamour collection. I’d wear this in shade Extra Fancy and top it off with the gloss from the same collection in shade Luxuriant Starlight. You can get them on Revolution Beauty itself.
7. CLE DE PEAU BEAUTE LUMINIZING FACE ENHANCER
The minute I laid eyes on this compact from the Le Lac Enchanté collection, I knew I had to show it to you! It’s a great alternative to Guerlain’s Meteorites compact, me thinks. So luxe, so pretty, also now still available on Nordstrom if you act fast!
8. JO MALONE ENGLISH PEAR & FREESIA LIMITED EDITION COLOGNE
A Jo Malone box is always welcome under the Christmas tree. This limited edition cologne has an art deco-inspired bottle, which puts a twist to the normal packaging. Available on Nordstrom or your closest Jo Malone store.
I know there are quite a few lip products mentioned in here. Although these are not so much in trend nowadays because everyone’s wearing a mask or staying indoors, I still think it would make you feel good to just apply some lip colour when attending Zoom meetings or when you have a few people over. If you have to choose absolutely one product from this list, then I say go for the Jo Malone fragrance – at the very least you can spritz this just before bed.
