Tired of dry skin? How about a beauty product that promises up to 24 hours of hydration? You read that right! Enavose, a Swiss brand launched in Singapore in 2011, has now launched its new makeup line. One of its star products is the Swiss Glacial Loose Powder SPF 15, an oil-free product which contains 50% water for a hydrating effect. In one bottle are millions of Hydra-Spheres-Release, which gradually release moisture on the skin for up to 24 hours, so you feel hydrated all day long.
Now, I did not wear this powder for an entire day but I did have it on for a decent amount of time in the day. When first applied using the sponge applicator provided (it’s part of the screw bottle cap), it feels a little cooling and damp, kind of like a powder-to-water sensation. The powder contains many little shimmer pigments to provide a dewy, radiant finish with an extremely soft feel. The powder does have some coverage, light-medium at best, and helps to reduce the appearance of redness in the skin. However, as it is not meant to be a concealing foundation, I’d recommend first adding your concelor or foundation, before finishing the look with the Swiss Glacial Loose Powder SPF 15. Because it has shimmer in it, this powder can also be used for highlighting areas, such as the cheekbones or T-zone.
For those of you who prefer a natural, no makeup look, the powder can be used on its own on the entire face. Because it’s so lightweight and breathable, the powder only comes in one shade – Nude Glow – and it is suitable for all skin tones. It doesn’t cake either, which is a plus point in our humid climate. The bottle comes with a piece of protector separating the applicator and the product below. I strongly recommend you to keep this piece so that the powder does not fall all over the place when you bring it about.
If you are going to travel to somewhere dry, are part of an air crew, a beach lover or stay a lot in the office, I think it would be a good idea to try this powder out. It has sun protection, is fuss-free (the product and applicator both in one package) and the best part is that the loose powder doesn’t fall all over the place when you use it.
How to use it: Just remove the protective piece between the product and applicator, put the applicator back on top, overturn the bottle so that the powder falls onto the applicator, and then turn it back right side up. Voila! Dab dab dab! When you’re done, place the protective piece back and screw the cap close. My skin did have a slight reaction to it, but it’s most likely due to my extremely sensitive skin (slight rosacea and alcohol allergy, though I’m not sure if this powder contains alcohol). If you don’t have skin problems like me, I do recommend this powder because it also doesn’t clog pores.
