New makeup never fails to raise my mood a little, regardless of what it is. While I’m down with the flu now, I’ve got my new Sleek Makeup blush in Pixie Pink to keep me looking chipper! This blush is of a matte hot pink shade with yellow undertones and is very pigmented. It’s not flaky, unlike some other drugstore brands, and it’s got long staying power.
I apply this with my Sigma Beauty F40 Large Angled Contour brush from the Mrs. Bunny Travel Kit. Because this blush is pretty intense, I usually blend it with a highlighting shade, such as Candy Doll‘s Peach Pink, on my cheekbones.
The blush compact is smaller than you would expect and it can be a bit difficult to open. You really have to stick your nail in under that lid to pry it open. Say bye to perfect manicures! Up close, the blush has a scent which is something similar to that of lipsticks. However, this scent isn’t strong so unless you’re looking out for it, you won’t notice it.
I like that this product is so affordable and yet is of great quality. The shade is also universally flattering; I’d pair this with light-coloured lips and dark-lined eyes. It does give NARS a run for their money, I feel. If you’re just starting out on makeup and don’t want to spend a bomb on something you’re not so sure of, I do recommend you check out the entire Sleek Makeup range of blushes (and their i-Divine eyeshadow palettes)!
