I finally got it!
I love fashion, glitz and glamour but one thing is for sure: I never follow trends. For one, they are so hard and troublesome to keep up with! Also, sometimes trends are so ridiculous, I find it hard to understand why people bother at all.
When the first Naked palette came out years back, it felt like I was the only one unfazed by it. 12 bronze shades, better suited to warm skin tones and overall neutral. I owned several neutral and smokey palettes and when combined, they worked as well or even better than the Naked. So I gave it a miss. When the Naked 2 launched shortly after, I was still unmoved, especially since it is very similar to the original palette.
But then came the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. The moment I laid eyes on the press releases from Urban Decay (and from blog reviews later on), I knew I had to get it. You know like how when you meet The One, you just… know? Exactly. A palette full of pinks that complement one another to create a range of looks from day to night – It was just what I needed.

The box packaging is a lovely mix of gloss, metallic and matte finishes, and looks really sleek. The palette I have was purchased in Europe, which may explain the French.

Please say that you think the palette looks like a chocolate bar too! The case is metal and in a shade of metallic dusty rose – too pretty to sit in a drawer! When opened, you find a full-length mirror from end to end, 12 beautiful shades and a double-ended Crease and Shadow Brush, also in a similar dusty rose shade. Oh my, I need to tell you that my current favourite colour is nude blush, so anything close to this sets my heart racing.

Overall, the eyeshadows are very pigmented, except for a couple. Dust is a great let-down, because when applied with a dry brush, almost nothing stays on the skin. The glitter fallout is incredible, as the French would say. Blackheart is a shadow that shows much promise without giving the game away. When applied with a dry brush, it looks like any ordinary dark eyeshadow colour but when applied onto primed skin, the purple shimmer on black just pops.

Overall, I’m super happy with the Naked 3 Palette, and really thankful that I received this as a Christmas gift! I wonder if Urban Decay will launch more Naked palettes.
