I’m really into pencil dresses. Not only are they perfect for the workplace, they also double up as a formal outfit for the evenings.
This dress was from a previous season from H&M. I’d initially seen it when it first launched in stores but I wasn’t then ready to fork out S$80 for it. Fast forward to January this year and as luck would have it, I found it on the sale rack for S$30. Of course I grabbed it. How could I not?
The prints on this piece are gorgeous, striking and also evoke a sense of energy. The v-neck isn’t too low (so you keep your modesty), while the dark band around the waist helps to emphasise your figure. It’s definitely something that would brighten up an otherwise lull day at work.
I wore this dress on the first day of Chinese New Year this year – it totally fitted the auspicious theme. If you also celebrate Chinese New Year, I hope you had a great time visiting family members and friends, and I hope you learnt how to cook a dish or two! That reminds me, I need to get my mum’s recipe for ngoh hiang.
