I got this cleanser when I was stuck camping at Parlee Beach in New Brunswick this summer and ran out of my Skinfood one. The main reason I chose this cleanser was the phrase “Active Naturals.” I have very sensitive skin so I tend to avoid products with too many purely synthetic chemicals (i.e. not derived from plant extracts) in them. Also, how harmful can plants be, right?

Aveeno Active Naturals Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser

This is one of the first foaming cleanser I’ve ever used (Witch was my first) and I actually quite like it! At first I wasn’t used to foam coming out of the pump (like, is it all foamy inside? but it has weight!) and I still don’t understand the process of turning the stuff inside into foam once it gets pumped out. But anyway, here’s a quick review:

    More about the product:

The additional benefits of the product as obtained from the product website are that it is soap- and oil-free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. Soy extract is the active component in this cleanser.

What I like about the product:

    1) It hasn’t made me break out from using it.

    2) I feel that it really removes stuff from my face after cleansing.

    Neutral feelings about this product’s:

    1) Drying effect on my skin. It was worse at the beginning but now it doesn’t dry my skin up that much. It’s a good thing I moisturise my skin everyday!

What I dislike about the product:

    1) Nothing really.

    Other thoughts:

I still don’t know what the difference is between foaming cleansers and other normal ones. And as what I’ve recently started to do, I’ve added the ingredient list below for reference. If you’d like to know, salicyclic acid helps with acne and citric acid can be found in lemons (for those who do home-made facials).

    Ingredient List

Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Salicyclic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, PEG-16 Soy Sterol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Butylene Glycol, Parfum.
